Facilities Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate: $22/hr
Duration: 1 year with possibilities of extension
Location: Jackson, MI
Schedule:
100% Onsite
Must be flexible to work:
1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic IV to support industrial equipment maintenance and facility operations in a chemical manufacturing environment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, and performing preventive maintenance on production equipment and building utilities while ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment including pumps, valves, conveyors, air motors, HVAC systems, boilers, and compressors.
Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Conduct machine inspections and identify equipment malfunctions.
Support fabrication activities including welding, metal cutting, and pipefitting.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and inspection schedules.
Follow facility safety procedures and work in chemical hazardous areas using appropriate PPE.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience in maintenance or industrial mechanic work required.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Willingness to learn welding and pipefitting.
Ability to work weekends, overtime, and rotating shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fabrication.
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and metal fabrication.
Experience with TIG, MIG, or Stick welding.
Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
