Production Finishing Technician Job Description As a Production Finishing Technician, you will play a crucial role in the final finishing process of machined components, ensuring every part meets strict quality and safety standards. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in producing flawless parts in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from machined parts using hand tools, power tools, and dedicated finishing equipment. Perform deburring, grinding, buffing, and polishing operations to achieve the required surface finish on components. Inspect parts visually and with measuring tools to verify they meet defined quality specifications and tolerances. Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and process sheets to complete finishing tasks accurately and consistently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient production and prevent defects. Communicate any defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues promptly to supervisors and relevant team members. Collaborate closely with machinists, quality inspectors, and production staff to resolve issues and ensure smooth workflow. Meet daily production goals while maintaining high levels of accuracy, consistency, and product quality. Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and company policies while operating tools and equipment. Essential Skills Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment for deburring, grinding, buffing, and polishing. Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and use basic measuring tools to verify part quality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, defect-free parts. Ability to follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and process sheets accurately. Effective communication skills to report defects, inconsistencies, and equipment issues. Ability to work collaboratively with machinists, quality inspectors, and production team members. Capability to meet production targets while maintaining quality and consistency. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with deburring processes and techniques for machined components.
