What you will be doing:
The Maintenance Specialist, BFC Journey II/Lead will be responsible for performing skilled diagnostic, installation, repair, and maintenance work on HVAC and related facility system components. The role supports reliable operation and efficiency of building mechanical systems to meet agency operational needs at Central Region DOT&PF facilities. This position requires a strong focus on system functionality and safety, with a commitment to high-quality service

Who we are looking for:
To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:
- Plumbing and Pipefitting : Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas, chemicals, or sewage.
- Facilities: Knowledge of the physical, engineering, and experimental equipment and operational characteristics of facilities, and safety and equipment development designed to support activities.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; generates and evaluates alternative solutions; makes recommendations]
- Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
