About the role .

Operate equipment in a safe manner and perform all essential sanitation duties in the plant.

What youll be doing.

  • Operates all equipment pertaining to Sanitation (includes the Portable Foamers, Gellers, Hotsys, Zambonies, Foaming stations, Hose repair equipment etc) in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Performs Titration, PH, Chlorine and Quat tests for our chemicals.
  • Maintains all required documentation and good housekeeping in work areas.
  • Complete routinely scheduled sanitation tasks including high pressure washing, scrubbing, deep cleaning, waste disposal, and general housekeeping.
  • Responsible for mixing, handling and distributing for some chemicals and cleaning supplies in the plant.
  • Ensure all chemicals on site are properly identified, labeled and CFIA approved.
  • Perform corrective actions to resolve issues identified in daily Food Safety and Sanitation audits.
  • Take a lead role in the completion of daily HPC (High Performance Clean).
  • Provide support and guidance to all operations staff during every scheduled plant cleanup and boil-out.
  • Carry out various light janitorial tasks as required.
  • Is a safety Champion in matters related to Chemicals and proper PPE.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

This position is based in a regulated manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Employees must consistently follow all GMP, safety, and hygiene requirements, including restrictions on jewelry, personal items, and attire while on the production floor. Compliance with these standards is an essential duty of the role to ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

What youll need to be successful.

  • Basic computer skills.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Mechanically inclined and able to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS and TDG.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills
  • Thorough understanding of WHMIS, TDG, plant sanitation requirements, industrial chemicals, and HACCP and AIB Gold standards.
  • Able to work in a high humidity, high temperature work environment
  • Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
  • Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.
  • Must be willing to work in a team based atmosphere. Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have proven history of safe work habits.
  • Ability to work shift work when required- will be scheduled to work all cleanup and boil-out days.

Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable)

  • Previous janitorial or sanitation experience is an asset.
  • Must be willing to successfully complete Forklift, Zamboni, Confined Space, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift training (minimum height requirement 20). Must be able operate this equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy lifting (up to 50lbs).

Compensation Package : - Starting at $28.46 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
