Bonus:  $3,000 Sign-On Bonus after 9 months
A leading manufacturer of high-performance building materials used in commercial roofing, waterproofing, insulation, and building envelope systems is seeking a  skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic  to join its team in  Carlisle, PA . This organization supports construction projects across North America and is known for producing durable materials that help protect and improve commercial and industrial buildings.
This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, performing precision mechanical work, and ensuring plant operations run efficiently and safely.
Primary FunctionThe Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will  plan, layout, perform, and oversee maintenance and repair work  across a wide variety of mechanical and facility systems. This includes machining, welding, pipefitting, electrical work, carpentry, plumbing, and structural repairs.
This position is responsible for  installing, assembling, aligning, maintaining, and repairing machinery and plant equipment , while ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role requires working with tight tolerances and understanding the operating principles of various facility systems to respond quickly to equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
	Plan and execute maintenance jobs assigned by maintenance support staff or engineering teams
	
	
	Install, erect, move, maintain, service, and repair plant and office equipment
	
	
	Select replacement parts from storage or vendor catalogs
	
	
	Create sketches of repair parts for fabrication when necessary
	
	
	Operate machine shop equipment such as drill presses, lathes, grinders, belt sanders, and mills
	
	
	Repair and maintain basic electrical systems (under 500 VAC)
	
	
	Calibrate scales and other plant equipment
	
	
	Repair and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment
	
	
	Maintain and monitor boiler room equipment
	
	
	Perform facility maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting
	
	
	Operate within close fits and tolerances when repairing or fabricating parts
	
	
	Follow maintenance manuals, service manuals, blueprints, specifications, and work orders
	
	
	Assist with facility upkeep tasks including lawn mowing and snow removal using tractors or plow trucks
	
	
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Technical Knowledge
	Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and understanding of machine operating principles
	
	
	Familiarity with industrial plant processes and equipment operations
	
	
	Knowledge of machine shop equipment and industrial safety systems
	
	
	Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and piping diagrams
	
	
Core Skills
	Reading maintenance manuals, service manuals, and parts catalogs
	
	
	Mathematical skills for measurements, tolerances, amperage calculations, and equipment setup
	
	
	Completing work orders, maintenance records, and documentation
	
	
	Sketching diagrams or parts when needed for fabrication
	
	
	Clear communication with operators, maintenance teams, and supervisors
	
	
	Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices

Education & Experience
Education
	High School Diploma or GED required
	
	
	Completion of an accredited apprenticeship, technical school program, or mechanical degree preferred
	
	
Experience
	Minimum  4+ years of experience  as a mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing environment
	
	
Equivalent Qualifications
	Technical school or mechanical degree may substitute for some experience
	
	
	5-10 years of industrial mechanic experience  may substitute for formal education
