Wiring Technician / Electrical Assembly Technician Job Description This role focuses on accurately and safely assembling electro-mechanical assemblies, automated manufacturing equipment, and robotic work cells, with a strong emphasis on industrial control panel wiring and electro-mechanical integration. You will work from electrical and mechanical drawings to build, wire, and plumb systems that meet high standards of quality, safety, and professional appearance. Responsibilities Perform precise cutouts to electrical enclosures using power and hand tools in accordance with electrical and mechanical drawings. Install interior and exterior components into industrial control panels based on electrical and mechanical drawings. Wire industrial control panels in accordance with electrical schematics, ensuring correct connections and compliance with standards. Route and label wires and cables within enclosures to ensure a neat, professional, and organized layout. Assemble and plumb pneumatic systems as part of electro-mechanical assemblies and automated equipment. Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component datasheets to guide assembly and wiring work. Assist with electrical troubleshooting and debugging of industrial control panels and related equipment. Support installation of equipment and panels at client facilities and other company locations as needed. Assist with other shop functions such as shipping and receiving, quality control, and general facility upkeep when required. Follow all safety procedures and quality standards while performing daily tasks and using tools and equipment. Carry out all other duties as assigned to support production, installation, and overall shop operations. Essential Skills Proficiency in industrial control panel wiring, including wiring per schematics, routing cables, labeling wires, and maintaining neat, compliant layouts. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component datasheets. Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly involving electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components. Skilled operation of power and hand tools such as drills, saws, knockout tools, crimpers, and torque tools. Experience with electrical assembly and panel assembly in an industrial or automation-focused environment. Working knowledge of industrial automation concepts and components. Attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and professional workmanship in all assemblies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with PLC hardware such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms. Basic understanding of robotic work cells and their components. Familiarity with UL508A industrial control panel standards. Mechanical fabrication skills, including drilling, tapping, and cutting. Experience working with industrial automation equipment and systems. Ability to read and interpret pneumatic schematics. Basic computer literacy, including use of MS Office and documentation tools. Forklift or material-handling experience in a shop or warehouse environment. Experience in shipping, receiving, or general shop support activities. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oakland, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
