We are looking for a 2 nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team in Tolleson, AZ. Reporting to the Plant Director.
SUMMARY :
Provide leadership and supervision for Production and Sanitation functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Manage all Operations on shift.
- Provide support and leadership in inventory control, quality assurance, use of the ERP system ‘X3’, and purchasing.
- Communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, and supervisors.
- Manage staff to provide consistent performance with predicable results.
- Review performance metrics and make improvements.
- Work with support departments to make improvements in all facets of the organization including safety, food safety, quality, purchasing, accounting, training and Human Resources.
- Provide support and active involvement in Food Safety improvement initiatives.
- Review daily production schedule for effective utilization of labor.
- Manage department budgets and hourly labor wage.
- Insure proper packaging and labeling of product is being done correctly.
- Controls product waste and makes adjustments if waste is higher.
- Monitor production line flow to optimize product safety and yields.
- Insure work orders are completed as requested for quality and scheduling requirements.
- Continually monitor Production areas for required sanitation.
- Audit associates time sheets and ensure proper clock in and clock outs per associate are done in ADP.
- Plan/schedule next day’s production run with subordinates.
- Experience with SQF, AIB, GFSI, etc.
- Provides proper guides and mentoring to subordinates in food safety programs and GMP’s practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises several subordinate Supervisors and Hourly associates on shift.
QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from a four year college or university, and four+ years of management related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Supervisory Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
HACCP or SQF certification is recommended.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Leadership and time management.
- Basic knowledge of SPC, Control Charts, Lean Manufacturing.

REQUIRED TRAINING
This position requires training on Good Manufacturing Practices critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Training is also required
on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, sanitation and cleanliness of the lines, etc., critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency.
