The CNC Technician II uses CNC machinery to perform a range of fabrication processes, producing precision parts that meet internal and external customer requirements. This role supports production through programming, setup, machining, and inspection in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Machine medium to moderately complex parts to print and specification
Apply working knowledge of CNC machines, tools, and machining methods, including setup, repair, and maintenance
Select appropriate tools, machines, materials, and abrasives to meet cut quality and production requirements
Modify existing CNC programs or write and test new programs to support new or revised processes
Program using G-code, macro variables, and SurfCam software
Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC and manual machine shop equipment, including mills and lathes
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other precision instruments
Measure, inspect, and test completed parts to ensure conformance to quality and engineering specifications
Maintain awareness of production processes, raw materials, quality standards, and cost considerations
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED preferred
3+ years of CNC machining experience or completed trade school training preferred
Strong background in CNC setup, programming, and precision machining
Comfortable working independently on second or weekend shifts
