As a Corrections Juvenile Food Production Worker, youll play a meaningful role in preparing and serving meals while guiding youth through structured kitchen and cleaning routines. One year of food service experience or training in an institutional, hospital, military, or commercial food service operation; OR Twelve semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, or institutional management.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here .
Job Duties:
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with facility menus and dietary guidelines
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining, and storage areas
- Supervise youth assigned to food service duties, ensuring safety and compliance
- Operate kitchen equipment and follow institutional food safety protocols
- Assist with inventory, storage, and portion control
- Uphold confidentiality, mandatory reporting, and trauma-informed care standards
- Participate in PREA training and other required onboarding programs

Work Location: This vacancy is located at Jetson Center for Youth in Baker, Louisiana . Appointment: Full-time, Probational Compensation: The Corrections Juvenile Food Production Worker (pay grade level WS-205) has a special entrance rate of $1,280 biweekly.
The incumbent of this position must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c) .
