Manufacturing Buyer Location: Philadelphia, PA Hire Type: Contract-to-Hire Target Pay Rate: $32.00/hour (W2) Benefits: PTO, paid holidays, BCBS medical plans, dental/vision plans, 401(k), & ESOP Must-Have Skills: Purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated environment Vendor negotiation and supplier management experience Experience creating and managing purchase agreements/contracts Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities Strong communication and organizational skills Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Job Summary: Our client, a global leader in the life sciences and diagnostics industry, is seeking a Buyer to support procurement and purchasing operations at their Philadelphia-area facility. This individual will be responsible for sourcing materials and services, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and contract terms, and ensuring vendor compliance with company standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment. Job Duties: Understand and document business and purchasing requirements Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential vendors and suppliers Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements for materials, equipment, supplies, and services Formalize supplier agreements in accordance with company policies and procedures Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contractual obligations and product/service specifications Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support procurement needs Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvement opportunities Participate in internal control and compliance processes Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier documentation within company systems Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement and supply chain operations Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience preferred Experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, or other regulated industries is highly preferred Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills Experience reviewing and managing contracts and purchasing agreements Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
