For more information, visit us at DescriptionJOB DETAILSBase pay $16.00 - $18.00 per hourShift: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - FridayDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts. Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environmentAbility to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semi-finished partsAbility to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipmentOperate various CNC-controlled machines, such as presses, lasers, and rolling mills in a fast-paced production setting, with an emphasis on safety and qualityPerforms routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operationMarks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts. Attaches identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct partsInterprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semi-finished partsMaintains continuous improvement practices in work areaProvide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate wasteUtilize scanning equipmentInspect work visually for defects according to Quality SystemsRead a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedulesTeam player and keeping safety firstMay be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team LeaderWilling/able to work overtimeQualificationsHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree3+ years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing is preferredAbility to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe mannerMust have a high attention to detail to consistently produce quality productSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusWill lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and more with assistanceThe physical demands of the job include standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, and near acuityAdditional InformationSite Address: 1909 Ruth St. Sulphur, La 70663 Why work for Cornerstone Building Brands?
