Job Title: Materials Control Supervisor
Department: Manufacturing (Shipping & Receiving)

Reports To: Materials Resources Manager
Position Type: Full-time (40 hrs/week), Exempt
Hours: 40 per week
Overview:
The Materials Control Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations for packaging, labeling, documentation, and physical material flow within a GMP manufacturing environment. The role requires urgency, accountability, leadership, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, compliance-driven setting.
Principal Responsibilities:
Oversee inventory control functions (receipt, verification, physical inventory) for stockrooms across multiple local plants.
Coordinate shipping and receiving; verify shipment methods meet customer and quality requirements.
Operate within an ERP/MRP system in manufacturing (preferably Acumatica).
Manage lot/serial number inventory control and work order-driven manufacturing processes.
Partner daily with Manufacturing Operations to set priorities, manage constraints, and resolve execution issues.
Support reporting and visibility for material status, shortages, and schedule performance.
Expedite materials to facilities; coordinate with Procurement, Inventory Control, and Production.
Maintain accountability for inventory record accuracy, material readiness, and timely work order closures.
Track material shortages and work orders in staging and on the floor to ensure timely delivery and accurate on-hand balances.
Ensure compliance with regulated manufacturing requirements (GMP, FDA, ISO, ITAR as applicable).
Collaborate with Accounting/Finance to resolve purchase price variance and material usage discrepancies.
Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3?5 Material Associates across multiple sites.
Maintain stores security and support two-shift operations.
Perform other duties as directed by the Materials Resources Manager.
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
Minimum seven years? experience in a regulated manufacturing/industrial environment.
Experience with storeroom operations and safeguards desirable.
Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (preferably Acumatica).
Demonstrated lot/serial inventory and work order management experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency preferred).
Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 13485, FDA GMP).
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Education:
Associate?s degree preferred; High School Diploma acceptable. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervisory responsibility for Materials Associates; responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and scheduling.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Work performed in manufacturing environments; PPE required in controlled areas.
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hear.
Must be able to lift items >25 lbs.
Routine use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier).
Travel:
Limited, infrequent travel may be required.
