CNC Machinist Job Description As a CNC Machinist, you will operate and adjust CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers to produce precision parts. You will work with robotic systems for material handling, automated loading/unloading, and part transfer, ensuring consistent part quality through tool changes and offsets. Your role includes troubleshooting issues related to CNC machines, robotics, and automation systems, conducting in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tolerances, monitoring and maintaining automated production cells for efficient workflow, and performing preventative maintenance on CNC machines and robotic systems. Adherence to safety protocols and quality standards, including AS9100 requirements, and documentation of machine settings, process improvements, and production logs are essential. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CNC machines, robotics, and automation systems. Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tolerances. Monitor and maintain automated production cells, ensuring efficient workflow and minimal downtime. Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines and robotic systems. Follow safety protocols and quality standards, including AS9100 requirements. Document machine settings, process improvements, and production logs. Essential Skills Proficiency in CNC machine operation and troubleshooting. Experience with robotic arms for machine tending and automation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings. Additional Skills & Qualifications Understanding of G-code, M-code, and machine programming is a plus. The facility operates with 200 employees in Rockford across two shifts, and 600 employees across the United States. The first shift runs from 6am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, with optional work on Friday. The second shift operates from 4:30pm to 3:00am, Monday to Thursday, with optional work on Friday, offering a $1.25/hour shift differential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loves Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.25/hr.
