Implement improvement systems in order to eliminate work-related inquires and ensure all employees are educated in safe work conditions, practices, and safety requirements. Work with EHS leadership team to develop the EHS management systems to aim in maintaining the safe workplace expected. Job Functions o Safety in the Work Environment: Evaluate work environment to ensure safe practices are established to prevent injuries, accidents, and eliminate work hazards Design and implement safety program to include PPE, hearing protection and noise mapping, heat stress, LOTO, confined space, hot permit program, electrical safety and fork truck safety, as part of the initial implementation plan Provide safety direction and/or guidance to on-site contractors to ensure compliance with FGA safety rules, policies, and procedures o Accident/Injury Investigation: Conduct accident investigations immediately upon notice of accident and/or injury; complete within 24 hours at the latest Document interviews with employees and witnesses to the accident/injury. Identify root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Communicate details of accident and/or injury to EH&S Assistant Manager and/or Manager Complete and submit, if necessary, worker's compensation report, OSHA log, and other regulatory agencies, including environmental reporting Update and maintain injury and accident statistics to evaluate performance level of program o Establish a Culture of Safety: Instill a culture of safety throughout the organization Conduct contractor safety training to ensure contractors comply with FGA safety rules,procedures, policies, and perform work in a safe manner Provide integrated solutions to potential safety hazards Act as a EHS resource to plant management Provide technical support and assist in resolving safety issues to aid production and maintenance goals o Industrial Hygiene Program: Support industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring as requested o Other duties as assigned o Nothing in the position description restricts management's right to assign or re-assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time Qualifications o Experience in automotive manufacturing environment preferred o EH&S Experience required o High School diploma and 7+ years of experience OR Associate/ Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent degree o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables o Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software o Knowledge of and ability to achieve auditor certification for relevant ISO standards is required o Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin. - Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers,leadership and customers o OSHA Compliance and Regulations; Familiar with Code of Federal Regulations; State and Federal Environmental Regulations; Strong knowledge of safety practices and programs in manufacturing environment's 14001. Ability to develop, improve, and enforce standards and policies related to the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, including ISO 45001 efforts o Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office, PLEX; Development of Safety Improvement Plans; Experienced Trainer on EHS subjects/courses o Above average interpersonal skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Teamwork to help build strong work relationships; Leadership; o Planning and Organization o Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED Certification 2nd Shift Sunday through Thursday 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM Must be 18 years of age or older.
