Main Duties & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
TheTool Maker fabricates, maintains and repairs progressive and transfer stampingdies, injection mold tooling and other support equipment with minimalsupervision using manual machines in the Tool Room. Other tasks are assigned asnecessary to ensure production requirements are met.
The hours for this shift are Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm with some weekends.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaina safe and healthy work practice by observing safely procedures and practices.
- Maintainall dies, support equipment, injection mold tooling preventive maintenance andtroubleshooting problems.
- Fabricatedetails using blueprints, sketches, oral instructions using Manual Mills,Lathes and Grinders.
- Effectivelyread detailed blueprints and fabricate parts to specified tolerances using avariety of materials and processes.
- Responsiblefor documenting all changes made to tools.
- Properlytroubleshoot tooling defects and eliminate all possible causes for productiondowntime.
- Executeengineering changes and improvements in the tools for customer complaints.
- Followthe work order system, including capture and print work orders in the WorkOrder system, perform the following instructions order filling and postingprogress specifying the order in the die/injection molds daily.
- Mustbe a Team oriented player & work well with others.
- Musthave own basic set of precision/hand tools.
- Reportingon the performance of the quality management system and on opportunities forimprovement to management.
- Ensuringthe promotion of customer focus throughout the organization and in particular,your area of responsibility.
- Ensuringthat the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changesto the quality management system are planned and implemented.
- Ensuringthat the processes are delivering their intended outputs.
- Supportall EHS activities and strictly adhere to all work instructions and safetyprocedures.
- Immediatelyreport any unsafe or unhealthy working condition to your supervisor/leadership.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Mustbe able to stand or walk on concrete for long periods of time. Must be able tolift up to 50 pounds.
On-Site: This role is required to beon-site 5-6 days at the Hamilton, IN location.
Qualifications
Qualifications andSkills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4 years experience working in a (manufacturing) tool & die shop running lathes, milling machines and grinders holding close tolerances
- Must be able to read and interpret mold and die prints
- Must be proficient using all measuring devices required to work in tool shop
- Experience in working in a fast paced, high-volume environment
PreferredQualifications Skills:
- DOL Journeyman, preferred
- Technical background in injection molding and/or steel manufacturing.
Compensation
The expected pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hour depending on experience. $2.00 shift premiumapplies. Potential for wage increase dependent on 90-day evaluation ofdetermined competency level.
