Responsibilities
- Support and improve electronics manufacturing processes including PCB assembly (PCBA), cable/harnessing, and system-level integration.
- Develop, document, and maintain work instructions, process flows, and manufacturing procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles are applied to new and existing products.
- Lead process improvements focused on yield, throughput, cost reduction, and quality enhancements.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to electronics assemblies and implement corrective actions.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including process validation and first article builds.
- Ensure compliance with Aerospace & Defense standards such as IPC and AS9100.
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, quality, and test engineering teams to drive operational performance.
Essential Skills
- 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronics manufacturing.
- Experience in Aerospace & Defense or other high-reliability, regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of PCB/PCBA processes, electronics assembly, and production workflows.
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and quality systems such as AS9100.
- Experience supporting NPI efforts and transitioning products into production.
- Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on troubleshooting capability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Exposure to test processes or integration of electronic systems.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting low-to-mid volume, high-mix production.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, engineering validation, and production practices.
The role involves working closely with the manufacturing engineering team and supervisor on the production floor within a small team. The work environment is very clean, reflecting the high standards of the Aerospace & Defense industry.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melbourne, FL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
