Talascend is currently seeking a CNC Machinist for a contract opportunity with our client in Urbana, Ohio.
Overview
The role involves setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, performing inspections, maintaining quality, and ensuring production goals are met while adhering to safety and quality procedures.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
Perform first-piece inspections and maintain quality on all parts.
Follow job work instructions and quality procedures.
Deburr parts and meet daily production goals.
Edit G-code programs.
Help meet deadlines and complete orders in order of precedence.
Maintain a clean work area using 5S principles.
Attend and participate in daily tier meetings.
Track and run jobs in order of precedence.
Log job information using the SAP system.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of CNC experience preferred but not required.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Proficiency with measuring devices such as calipers, OD mics, 6 steel ruler, height gauge, and depth mics.
Basic computer skills are a plus.
