Job Summary:
The Die Sinker will set up and machine dies/part(s) from customer drawings or C.N.C. programs from MD&T programming department. This includes understanding the machinery, speeds and feeds, proper tooling, efficient running of equipment, ability to read blue prints and utilize geometric dimensions. CNC programming at the machine if needed to adjust the programs to complete the job. Essential to the job is the quality requirements to meet the customer specifications. Effective communication with shop personnel is a must along with teamwork.
Job Requirements:
A minimum secondary Education or GED and 2 years working experience in machining/setup and computer operation. This position requires knowledge of CNC programming and computer usage. Excellent communication skills and an analytical mind to assist in costs savings and efficient procedures. Team player to facilitate the growth, safety and prosperity of the company. This position will work Monday-Thursday 4am-2:00pm.
Essential CNC Operator: Duties and Responsibilities:
- Simultaneous operation of two machines by one employee.
- Receive job from Operations Manager or Lead Programmer.
- Locate the proper piece of material and appropriate paper work necessary to do the job.
- Set up the job which includes indicating the face and matched edges then edge finding the match corner for machining location reference.
- Keeps machine and all tooling in good shape and maintains them as needed.
- Understand dimensioning requirements to effectively run the program.
- Understanding of CNC programming and use of computers.
- Ability to inspect and document the part with the use of calipers, micrometers, pi tapes, squares, and height gauges, etc.
- Communicates with operations manager/lead person as needed to ensure the job is completed to customer specifications including match marks, engraving or impression stamping.
- Fill out all necessary paper work that is required by ISO 9001:2008
- Make sure the person following you on the machine has the information necessary to run the next shift.
- Make sure the job is complete and burr free when it comes off the machine.
- Assist others in setup.
- Must be able to operate the fork lift and overhead cranes.
- Loads and unloads trucks as needed.
- Assures the cleanliness and professional appearance of the shop at all times.
- Works closely with the operations manager/lead person to ensure the quality, delivery, and complete customer satisfaction.
- Makes sure all jobs have their I.D.# replaced if removed during machining operation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a one or two-year college or technical school preferred but not required; two years experience in CNC machining in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience with in a machining environment.
