Job Description

Major PurposePlans, coordinates, and performs manufacturing engineering work for a project or process. Operates in a team environment within either the enterprise product delivery process or the enterprise order fulfillment process. At this level, projects are of moderate scope and responsibility or may be a significant portion of a major and diverse project or process; decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors and/or managers. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work for support personnel, contractors and suppliers.Major Duties? Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.? Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.? Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.? Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.? Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.? Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.? Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.? Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.? Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.? Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Foundry

Specific Position Requirements: Job Title: Foundry Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Waterloo Works - Foundry

Shift: This position will work either 2nd shift (3:30 pm to Midnight) or 3rd shift (10:30 pm to 7 am), depending on production volumes. Please list shift preference on resumes. Minimal overtime.

Bill Rate: ***/hour for entry level candidates or ***/hour for candidates with 2 or more years of applicable experience.

Job Description:

As a Foundry OFP Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering projects across the foundry. Operating in a team environment, you will collaborate closely with other engineers, supervisors, and operators within the order fulfilment process.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and execute engineering projects

Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Work approximately 75% on the shop floor

Required Skills/Experiences:

1+ years of foundry/process engineering

Effective team collaboration

Project management skills

Solid skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Effective communication and problem solving skills

Desired Skills/Experiences:

Manufacturing line/process design experience

Experience with SAP, MES, Creo, AutoCAD

Controls Engineering/safety system design experience

Robotics programming (FANUC) and troubleshooting experience

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Technology or relevant work experience

Work Details:

Onsite only (no remote)

Business casual dress code

Interview preference: Teams

Will need metatarsal safety boots for first day

This is a shop floor position so candidates must be comfortable in this environment

~75% time spent on feet within the factory.

~Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs

Other Notes:

Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the future, for this position

Fully onsite; candidate must be comfortable with factory environment and occasional intra-facility travel

If you are submitting a recent grad candidate, they must have an internship in a manufacturing environment.

Regarding Driving: This position may drive a *** owned Gator inside the factory to get from the office area to a different office area in another part of the factory (all connected and indoors). Worker will need to successfully complete Deere safety training to be approved to drive this. They will transport their computer or parts/tools. Other workers could ride along if they are going to the same areas due to limited number of available Gators. This would not be driven outside. May also drive their personal vehicle to other facilities within a 20 mile radius. Rental cars are not used for this travel.
