The Site Manager is responsible for effectively planning, directing and and coordinating all activities for all specialized polymer material solutions manufactured at the assigned plant. These activities include safety, environmental, quality, production and cost.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides direction, ensures resources and manages programs to ensure the plant's safety, environmental, and sustainability performance meets established goals.
  • Develops and implements plans to reduce waste, meet applicable regulatory standards and handles emergency situations that may arise at the site.
  • Develop a plant operating plan that is consistent with and supports the overall business strategic operating plan.
  • Manages employee and equipment resources required to successfully implement the operating plan.
  • Ensures standards for product quality, customer on-time service, and continuous improvement to optimize productivity.
  • Develops capital plan to improve plant operations.
  • Ensures plant performs at or below annual budgeted cost levels.
  • Develops employees through training and career development programs that drive operational excellence and provide growth opportunities for assigned employees.
  • Represents Avient to the external community in a professional and positive manner.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Physical/Environ. Demands

Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listening. Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs. May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds. Typically work is in a manufacturing environment where noise level is loud. Generally requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection. Exposure

to outside weather conditions is routine. May be exposed to working in extreme heat and humidity. May also be exposed on occasion to dust or fumes.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline required.

  • At least 10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 7 years of experience supervising multiple individuals and/or teams/shifts.

  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing operations and safety procedures; prior experience in polymer operations is strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience and utilization of Lean Six Sigma methodology is strongy preferred.

  • Exceptional leadership skills required to build high performing teams.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to collobarate effectively with all functional teams assigned and at all levels of the organization to include external stakeholders.

  • Strong decision making skills; ability to plan and execute strategic and tactical operations

Final compensation within this range may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
