Plant Production Manager

The Production Manager will hold a key position in ensuring that our Plant runs safely, efficiently and to the highest standard of quality. The ideal candidate will have a passion for safety, an aptitude for leadership and a personality that values teamwork and the contribution of all employees. This position will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plant's production to meet requirements with a quality product at the lowest possible cost. Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements in regard to Safety & Health and Environmental matters.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure safe work operations; enforce safety & health rules and environmental compliance.

Coordinate the scheduling of all processing at the plant to meet the required shipping schedules. Ensure that proper preventative maintenance activities at the plant occur and maintenance issues are promptly reported for repair.

Provide direct supervision for all wash plant, dry plant and mine personnel and delegate as appropriate to crew leaders.

Oversee all truck loading and ensure that all quality testing is performed and that all production meets quality specifications for products produced and shipped.

Working with the HS&E to ensure that all employees receive proper task and safety training and that training is properly documented. Ensure the plant housekeeping is within EH&S guidelines and ensure adherence to all Corporate EHS policies, federal and state regulations.

Work with Plant Manager to develop long and short term plans to achieve plant, Operations department, and corporate goals and objectives.

Using the continuous improvement philosophy look for opportunities to improve quality, costs, productivities, and other efficiencies while eliminating waste.

Prepare and maintain daily and weekly production reporting.

Monitor operating costs. Strive to provide the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost. Initiate programs to adhere to standards and/or establish improved standards.

Initiate corrective action necessary to improve or maintain efficient operations. Bring problems or potential problems to the attention of the Plant Manager.

Maintain an "Open Door" policy to ensure good relations with staff and hourly work force.

Handle disciplinary actions per the employee handbook and work to settle employee grievances

Recommend actions necessary for development of a qualified and motivated workforce.

Assist in resolving customer complaints.

Assist in the preparation of Capital Plans and completion of capital projects.

Complete assigned projects in a timely manner.

Handle the duties of Plant Manager in their absence.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred.

Five or more years of experience in mining or aggregate environment required.

Three or more years of management experience with a proven record of managing large teams and projects at the same time, while maintaining the highest level of production required.

Experience with Dry and Wet Plant operations preferred.

Advanced experience working with MSHA
