You will be a Manufacturing Engineer at Lockheed Martin's Archbald facility, which specializes in design, manufacturing, and engineering for both domestic and international customers. Our team produces electronic assemblies, machined and welded assemblies/parts, and safety-critical systems for various defense and commercial applications. Archbald is renowned for its awards and contributions to missile systems, nuclear instrumentation, and control products.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you may support the Assembly and/or Fabrication areas depending on the project or assignment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Interfacing with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and other internal/external stakeholders as the product(s) move from planning to release, completion, and distribution
- Using SAP, dPLM, and other applications & tools to analyze and develop sequence of operations, work-instructions, procedures, and production record systems including inspection and test
- Assisting in the identification, procurement, and implementation of equipment, machinery, tools/fixtures, and material handling systems
- Establishing methods for maximum utilization of the production facilities and personnel utilizing lean six sigma concepts to improve work-flow efficiencies throughout production and the facility
- Using 2D/3D modeling tools to assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of manufacturing cells & layouts throughout the facility
- Using business process applications and tools to analyze data to improve productivity including reducing cost, improving inventory accuracy and improving first pass quality to achieve on-time schedules
- Investigating issues, gathering data, and initiating corrective actions and then presenting solutions to teams and leaders within the organization
- Assisting in establishing hazard prevention measures including personnel training programs for all phases of production operations including safety and ergonomics
- This position may require a different shift such as 2nd shift or a B-shift (Tues-Fri)

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Eng, Industrial Eng, Electrical Eng, or other Engineering related discipline from an accredited college with 2+ years of professional experience.Ability to obtain a secret security clearance so must be a US Citizen.Previous experience in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering tasks; including internship and/or project teams experience.
Prior experience in all aspects of circuit card assembly for plated-thru-hole (PTH) and surface mount technology (SMT) production including component forming, pick-and-place equipment, solder printing, hand soldering, wave soldering, selective-soldering, conformal coating, automated optical inspection, x-ray inspection, and programming of related assembly equipment.
Excellent written and oral communication/interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment or independently to solve problems in a timely manner.
Ability to read & interpret drawing requirements to develop work instructions.
Familiarity with lean/six-sigma manufacturing methods, root cause/corrective action techniques, and IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001.
Ability to track and manage cost, quality, and schedule in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and set up production work cells and facility layout changes.
Ability to define problems, collect/analyze data and make the necessary improvements to achieve desired performance.
Demonstrated ability to create/change work instructions, shop floor routers, and bills of materials.
Demonstrated use of 2D and 3D modeling programs such as Auto-CAD and CREO to design tooling/fixturing.
