WHAT WE'RE DOING
This role is a Procurement Engineer - Mechanical supply chain lead. This position will report to the SEMS Supply Chain Strategy & Business Performance lead.

THE WORK
The technical authority for evaluating, selecting, and developing external machining suppliers for complex CNC milling and turning operations (3 to 5axis).
The role blends deep manufacturing expertise with strong business acumen to translate capability data into strategic sourcing decisions that drive cost reduction, risk mitigation, and program competitiveness.
The engineer partners closely with Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Quality, and Operations to assess supplier capabilities, resolve technical issues, and ensure that suppliers meet quality, delivery, and performance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

8+ years hands-on electrical or machining experience (shop floor, manufacturing engineering, or supplier technical role)

Experience supporting major aerospace or defense programs

In depth experience / knowledge with Electrical / Electronic manufacturing processes and manufacturing supplier work flow

Ability to travel >50% of the time

Ability to obtain security clearance Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Make/buy strategy
Capability Center / COE models
Experience with digital manufacturing, advanced PCB technologies (HDI, flex rigid), or automated harness assembly, advanced machining, or automation initiatives.
