Essential Tasks for an Industrial Project Manager include:
Estimating
- Estimating industrial small projects for all three trades (Plumbing, Pipefitting, and Sheetmetal)
- Teaching and mentoring Assistant Project Managers in small project and change order estimating
- Proactively assist the Grunau Estimating team with completing larger industrial project estimates
Managing Labor
- Forecasting labor hours
- Scheduling labor
- Communicating and developing positive relationships with the Foremen and Crew
Safety
- Perform safety audits to ensure a safe work environment
- Communicate safety concerns with Foremen and Crew
- Proactively plan for a safe job site from beginning of the project to the end
Sales
- Own the relationship with their customers
- Actively seek and develop new business relationships
- Lead and participate in proposal generation and presentation
Technical Knowledge
- Apply a deep knowledge of industrial mechanical systems
- Apply knowledge of ASME process piping codes and standards to deliver value for customers
Operational Excellence
- Demonstrate leadership through continuous improvement of self and Grunau processes
- Follow Project Management Process Map
- Deliver projects that meet or exceed individual gross margin plan
- Mentor developing Assistant Project Managers
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management or Equivalent Experience in Pipe Trades
Required Demonstrated Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in mechanical contracting specializing in industrial piping, manufacturing or related field
- Demonstrable success developing and maintaining customer relationships
- A thorough understanding of industrial construction practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities
- Experience directing/guiding others using effective management and communication techniques to maximize field employee performance
- Experience preparing estimates in process piping projects
- Solid skillset using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to gain proficiency in new software systems
PAY RANGE: Pay dependent upon level of experience and education. Base Salary + Incentive based on company performance.
