The Role

Performs set-up and operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centres to manufacture metallic and/or non-metallic parts to very close tolerances under minimal supervision with keen attention to detail.

1 week rotation on shifts

Dayshift 07:00 - 15:00 (Mon-Fri)

Backshift 15:00 - 22:30 (Mon-Fri)

Nightshift 22:30 - 07:00 (Sun-Thur)

Key Responsibilities

Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.

Interpret work instructions.

Identify, select and set up tooling for operations being performed.

Operate multiple machine tools and operations.

Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.

Visually inspects final components.

Uses precision measuring instruments & gauging devices and performs various quality inspection type procedures to include dimensional verification.

Assumes responsibility for quality and functionality.

Adhere to all policies and procedures.

Maintain a team focused work environment.

Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of working area.

Ability to work rotating Day/Back/Night shifts.

Seek out and identify Continuous Improvement opportunities.

One or more manufacturing skills (CNC Turning, 3/4/5 Axis milling, Inspection, Bench, CMM)

The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications

Be time served in a machining discipline

Previous experience in similar industry is preferable (Aerospace)

Experience working with CNC machines with various controls including Fanuc, Mazatrol & Heidenhain

Must be self-motivated and possess facilitation skills to be used in a team setting.

Prior experience with precision inspection equipment.

Proven ability to hold tight machining tolerances.
