As Maintenance Engineer , youll be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and performance of maintenance operations across the facility. Youll lead maintenance staff, optimize the use of the CMMS system, and drive predictive and preventive maintenance (PPM) strategies to reduce downtime and improve equipment life cycle. This role touches all major areas of the plant and plays a vital part in capital planning, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coach the maintenance team, including performance reviews and development planning
Plan and allocate resources for shutdowns, overhauls, and capital improvement projects
Oversee maintenance budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives
Coordinate closely with planning, inventory, and procurement teams for timely repair scheduling
Administer the PPM program and optimize spare parts inventory through the CMMS
Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term reliability improvements
Analyze equipment data to identify trends and predict failures before they occur
Maintain accurate documentation, schematics, and equipment histories
Ensure safe work practices and full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and food safety regulations
Support the development and continuous improvement of SQF and GMP compliance systems
Collaborate with operations, vendors, and engineering teams on new installations and system upgrades
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (required)
2+ years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or similar production environment
Knowledge of GMPs, OSHA, and EPA standards
Strong CMMS and Microsoft Office skills
Proven ability to lead maintenance teams and manage complex scheduling and prioritization
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
5+ years of maintenance engineering experience in the food industry
Background in predictive maintenance and continuous improvement tools (e.g., TPM, RCA, 5S)
Previous experience as a plant-level Maintenance Supervisor or similar leadership role
