Located on the Tenn-Tom Waterway, the Amory Terminal has a variety of features including barge, rail, truck, tug and fleeting services. Commodities handled at the terminal include bulk ores, petcoke, steel, lumber, fertilizer, rock, and containers.
Description:
The Equipment Operator will be responsible for handling dry bulk and break-bulk materials with full-service transloading and distribution capabilities.The ability to work with others to be productive is essential to the success of this position, the company, and all team members. All team members in the entire organization are to treat each other in the same manner that they would expect to be treated themselves.
Essential Functions:
Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performanceFollow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on scheduleRead, write, and communicate in English & understand basic mathLearn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgmentWorking knowledge of Watco Safety and Operating principlesComplete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping and daily inventoryMust be able to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds alone, twist, climb. Must be able to talk and hear well enough to communicate with all team members, vendors, and customers 100% of the timeParticipate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other pass on information from team members, management or customerOperate in a manner where SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT are of the highest importanceClimb onto top and underneath railcars in order to inspect and seal railcars using a checklistPerform structural inspections as requiredPrepare equipment for product transferStart, stop, and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parametersPerform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirementsAbility to work outside majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditionsMust maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performanceMust be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assignedFlexibility required; ability to work days, nights, weekendsOther duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to pass training and required testingWheel Loader experience preferred
Machines, Tools, Special Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment Used:
Skid steer, Excavator, Endloader, Forklift, power tools, hydraulic equipment, power drills, and basic hand tools (i.e., wrench, screw driver, sockets, measuring tape, etc.)PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, splash goggles, face shield, gloves, steel toed boots, fire retardant clothing, full face respirator.
