Summary/Objective
The Industrial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation across all manufacturing and facility areas to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment. This role supports production and maintenance activities by performing routine and deep-cleaning tasks, promoting 6S principles, and assisting with preventive maintenance initiatives.
Essential Functions

- Promote a culture of organization, cleanliness, and safety on the production floor using 6S principles.
- Clean and maintain production areas, including floors, machinery exteriors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuums.
- Remove debris, scrap, and waste materials from designated areas in compliance with safety and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior facility areas, including walkways, loading docks, and entryways.
- Refill and maintain supplies such as soap, paper products, and cleaning agents.
- Assist with performing 6S audits and maintaining corresponding records.
- Share and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and support cross-functional teams in executing related initiatives.
- Support preventive maintenance of tooling and equipment, including updating related documentation.
- Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely and according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Follow all required safety protocols, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) when necessary.
- Ability to operate safely and effectively at heights up to 30 feet, including the use of ladders, lifts, or other approved equipment. Must feel comfortable performing job duties at such heights.
- Maintain shop and equipment in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Report any maintenance or safety hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional manufacturing office and shop floor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 50 pounds. This position also requires the ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet, including the safe use of ladders, lifts, or other approved equipment, and the employee must be comfortable performing job duties at such heights.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position may occasionally require extended hours and/or weekend work.

No travel is required for this position.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in industrial, janitorial, or manufacturing cleaning preferred.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- At least 2 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of organizational and cleaning standards.
- Reliable, dependable, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to operate a forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift (certification may be required).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to operate safely and effectively at heights up to 30 feet, including the use of ladders, lifts, or other approved equipment. Must feel comfortable performing job duties at such heights.
Preferred Education, Qualifications, and Experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to perform basic math operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to operate safely and effectively at heights up to 30 feet
- Effective at managing time, prioritizing work, and solving routine issues with minimal supervision.
