Unilock, North America's leading manufacturer of premier Architectural Concrete Paving Stones and Engineered Retaining Wall Systems, has immediate openings for a Press Operator in our new state-of-the-art facility in Harrison, OH.

What you'll do

  • Operations: The standards established for day to day operations relating to start-up, mold changes, clean-ups, or other day to day routines are met or exceeded.
  • Complete necessary paper work including Safety Testing Checklist, Preventative Maintenance Checklist, Density Test, Sieve Test, Concrete Mix Moisture Test, Small and Large Unit Density Test, Production Log/Reports (NAV)
  • Ability to program, operate, maintain, and make adjustments to the charging/dosing equipment systems. (Moisture controls, aggregate dosing, add mixtures, pigment dosing and coating machines/devices if applicable.)
  • Quality Control: Ensures that products produced and packaged meets or exceeds company quality standards as per the companies' Total Quality Management Program reporting all quality concerns and issues to Lead Operator (if applicable), Shift Supervisor and/or Plant Management.
  • Operate, maintain, and make adjustments to all equipment in the plant.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Performs or ensures that the shift staff carry out running adjustments and minor repairs to any and all plant equipment as needed. Ensures that the shift staff is performing daily checks as per established schedules on all plant equipment.
  • Safety: Ensure the health and safety of all persons working, visiting, or otherwise inside the plant. All employees must follow all guidelines in the Health & Safety Manual as well as the Employee Handbook. All employees must be treated equally and held to the same standards.
  • This includes, a working knowledge of SOP's, hot works permitting, JSA's, proper live testing, confined space, lock out tag out (LOTO) program, injury reports, and any other reports deemed necessary. Injury reports must be completed with a Supervisor immediately after the incident.
  • Training: Assist the Supervisor in all facets of training for current and new employees in order to maintain the highest levels of safety, skills and knowledge of equipment.
  • Housekeeping: General cleanliness and tidiness of the work area(s).
  • Other Duties: All other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Assistant Plant Manager and Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Press Operator - 2 Years Experience
  • The machine/press operator must be able to pass testing for and possess the skills and knowledge of the following positions General Laborer, Quality Control, Utility Man, Strapper and Press/Machine Operator.
  • Requires standing, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to perform work with hands and/or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below shoulder level
  • Successful completion of the Concrete Technology Seminar Training.
  • Basic computer skills
  • The ability to functionally read and write the English language.
