Summary of Position: 

The Knauf Insulation Technology Facility supplies the tooling (spinners) for fiberglass manufacturing. You are responsible for operating and troubleshooting equipment used in fabrication of spinners to support fiberglass operations. Perform visual and instrumental inspections of product in all stages of the process. Perform preventative and non-preventative maintenance on machines. Prepares packages for shipment. Performs a variety of housekeeping tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensuring all equipment and facility is in compliance with safety standards
  • Conduct risk assessments prior to any performed maintenance
  • Operate machines for CNC machining, balancing, slinging, electron beam drilling, grinding and cleaning
  • Perform Haas programming
  • Perform balancer programming
  • Perform electron beam programming
  • Maintaining spare parts supply based on needs
  • Moderate understanding of system controls
  • Ensure product quality requirements are met throughout entire process
  • Perform troubleshooting tasks using all available troubleshooting equipment, to include but not limited oscilloscope,  with the ability to diagnose root causes and have the ability to assist in repairs with the maintenance team.
  • Ability to read PLC and update
  • Replacing pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic components of equipment
  • Use leak detecting equipment to troubleshoot component leaks
  • Understand the functions of screw line pumps and how to correct faults
  • Read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Perform preventative and non-preventative maintenance on the machines
  • Perform all SAP functions
  • Perform housekeeping tasks

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Associate’s Degree in EET or automation controls related degree or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Experience working with CMM systems highly preferred
  • Experience working and manipulating controls systems preferred
  • Experience in both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Reading and understanding both electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Proficient in SAP applications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively integrate performance planning and development processes
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity and provide creative solutions
  • Ability to work OT as requested
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology/processes
  • Knowledge of quality systems
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to pass a physical for driving
  • Ability to pass requirements to operate a fork lift
