Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Process Engineer to test and optimize manufacturing and extrusion processes for both new and existing products. The goal is to reduce operating costs, lower labor requirements, minimize product variability, and increase yields.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, assembly, debugging, and optimization of manufacturing equipment, extrusion tooling, and secondary equipment for new and existing products.
  • Develop machine specifications, identify and evaluate suppliers, and procure, install, and debug equipment from outside suppliers for general manufacturing, extrusion equipment, and secondary processes.
  • Plan, coordinate, develop, and execute test protocols, experiments, process characterization, and process validations on new and revised products and processes.
  • Coordinate efforts to design, develop, and validate manufacturing processes using tools such as Design Of Experiments (DOE), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and capability analysis.
  • Stay current with and ensure adherence to appropriate QA/RA SOPs on all projects, including equipment development processes, product development processes, process controls, process validations, and the ECO system.
  • Provide support as required for GMP, safety, ISO, and internal audits.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in process improvement and process engineering.
  • Experience with injection molding and plastic injection molding.
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement and troubleshooting manufacturing processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Polymer, Plastics Engineering or other related Engineering discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated technical and relationship skills.
  • Strong initiative, self-directed, and proactive in taking action on opportunities.

Work Environment

The role involves spending approximately 60% of the time in an office setting and 40% on the floor working with technicians, quality assurance, and maintenance teams. Employees enjoy good benefits, a 401k plan, and a long-term stable working environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $52.00/hr.
