The Production Supervisor Rails focuses on the day-to-day manufacturing operations of assigned departments and is accountable for safety, productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Instill a safety-first culture
Lead and manage the rail fabrication team including training, mentoring, guiding, and disciplining.
Interprets, applies, and consistently enforces all company policies, programs, rules, regulations, and safety protocol.
Responsible for the continuous improvement efforts that drive value added activity to better service the customer needs while impacting the bottom line.
Work with engineering throughout the DV and PV process to ensure an effective and efficient Release to Production process
Fulfills all record keeping requirements including written performance reviews, safety training, documentation, disciplinary actions, and job-related training.
Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously, planning and scheduling work and activities to routinely meet demand and schedule parameters and manage time efficiently.
Work closely with other production supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in each department and plant facility
Bring knowledge and applied understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and waste elimination
Monitors departmental material inventory to ensure efficient right-sizing.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Bachelors degree in Engineering, or related field desired, or equivalent qualification or a combination of job-related education
4-6 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated leadership ability to set goals, delegate and motivate team to achieve those goals
Excellent leadership skill in motivating, training, and developing individuals and teams.
Excellent written & verbal communication within team and cross-functionally
Highly organized and effective in managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Effective negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills
Ability to drive accountability throughout the organization
