Job Description

Position Overview:

The Wood Fabrication Technician is responsible for building high-quality wood products and assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and CNC equipment. This role involves reading work instructions, assembling components, and contributing to efficient production while meeting established quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate various woodworking tools and equipment, including CNC machines, to produce custom wood components such as lockers and specialty furniture.

2. Follow detailed instructions and blueprints to assemble wood parts into final products.

3. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace to support efficient manufacturing flow.

4. Complete necessary documentation for production tracking and quality control.

5. Use inventory systems (e.g., Kanban) to replenish parts and materials as needed.

6. Ensure all products meet internal quality expectations and are built within specified timeframes.

7. Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Support other tasks within the production department as directed.

2. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support continuous improvement efforts.

Work Environment:

1. Manufacturing setting with exposure to wood dust, noise, and power equipment.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to sit, stand, or move for extended periods during the workday.

2. Must be capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds regularly.

3. Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Experience:

1. Previous experience in woodworking, carpentry, or cabinet-making strongly preferred.

2. Comfortable operating hand tools, CNC equipment, and reading blueprints or shop drawings.

3. Understanding of basic computer systems for inputting data or accessing instructions.

4. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow precise instructions.

5. Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
