Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking dedicated Machine Operators to join our team across multiple shifts. You will have the opportunity to work on various machines including vacuum metallizing, mixing, converting/slitting, and coating machines, ensuring high-quality production standards. Responsibilities Metalizer: Set up and operate vacuum metallizing machines, install rolls, thread film, and set up heating elements. Monitor machine operations, inspect for defects, and make necessary adjustments. Conduct inspections and document findings. Maintain cleanliness of the machine and parts. Handle product loading and unloading using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts. Mixing Operator: Operate machines that mix chemicals, apply coatings, and slit rolls of film. Conduct material handling and perform quality control checks. Perform routine maintenance and ensure availability of specific product stocks. Converter/Slitting Machine Operator: Load and clamp materials onto machines, operate machines to cut materials per specifications, inspect and package products, and move materials to the shipping area. Coating Machine Operator: Operate coating machines based on process sheets and client specifications. Inspect end-of-roll samples and package materials for shipping. Perform additional cutting as required. Essential Skills Standing for extended periods. Ability to lift 60+ lbs using crane, hoist, and cart. Metalizer: Minimum 5 years of experience in large machine operation with attention to detail. Mixer: Experience with mix sheets and measuring materials. Converting/Slitting: At least 1 year of experience operating industrial machines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with slitter or coating machines. Other PPE is provided upon request. The mixing room has a strong smell similar to a nail salon, and masks are optional. Shifts are structured as follows: 1st shift is Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, and 2nd shift is Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield, Connecticut. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
