Summary / Objective:
The Assembly Technician completes assembly preparation, valve preparation, shop maintenance and inventory receiving as approved by management.
Accepted quality control procedures and routine operations are followed.

Assembly Responsibilities:
- Completes the assembly of “sub-assemblies” that are necessary for primary product assembly. This includes “sub-assemblies” such as flame rod kits, igniter testing processes, circuit board preparation, among many other similar “sub-assemblies”.
- Completes the assembly of completed goods that will be shipped to clientele. This includes BMS controllers, burner assemblies, valve assemblies, air compressor packages, and other similar completed goods.
- Performs bench-type testing of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Maintain a clean / organized workspace.
- Assist with the shipping department when required.
Competencies:
- Mechanical / Small Tools
- Must have basic skills in the operation of small hand tools and power tools.
- Including, but not limited to, screw drivers, hammers, wrenches, pliers, screw gun, drills, chop saw, pipe bender, etc.
- Must have basic skill in the operation of small electrical tools
- Including, but not limited to, computers, digital multi-meters, micro-screwdrivers, etc.
- Time Management
- Must be competent with time management and able to work under time constraints to accommodate necessary assembly schedules.
- Thoroughness
- Quality is a top priority, so workmanship must be detailed and quality oriented.
- Must have basic skills in the operation of small hand tools and power tools.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed open flame for ignition testing, power tools such as chop saws, and power drills, elevated or precarious places, such as performing maintenance on a ladder, and noise level ranges from a moderate level to a moderately loud level. This position must be able to speak and communicate in English.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, utilize hands to handle or operate tools, controls, climb or balance, walk across a shop or outside environment, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, regularly lift 10 pounds with occasionally lifting and moving up to 35 – 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required for this position, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type:
This is a full-time, non-exempt, and hourly position.
Work weeks are consistently 38 – 40 hours per week.
Days of operation are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Travel:
There is no required travel for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
Education requirements are based on skills and duties / tasks that are job related and consistent with business necessity.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One-year of related experience
Other Duties:
All other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by management.
