Production Operator Job Description As a Production Operator, you will operate electric hoists, various handheld power tools, and small hand tools to assist in the production operations and assembly of various components. You will also package components and assemblies for shipment to outside finishers and/or customers. Responsibilities Prepare work to be assembled by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Assemble parts to ensure correct fit. Package products to meet standards. Use hand tools to assemble and measure required parts. Review parts, sub-assemblies, and final products. Check specifications by inspecting completed assemblies and reject those that do not meet established quality standards. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level. Document actions by completing production and quality forms. Use various types of powered industrial trucks, manual pallet jacks, and gantry hoists to move materials. Prepare parts for painting by cleaning parts and hanging them in the paint booth. Essential Skills Ability to read blueprints and a comprehensive knowledge of measuring devices. Proficiency in operating hand and bench type tools. Capability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write basic routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning skills to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Problem-solving skills to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with metal finishing, grinding, buffing, and polishing. Familiarity with machine operating, assembly, and sanding. Why Work Here?
