The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational activities at National Vacuum Equipment (manufacturing site), ensuring the successful transformation of production over the next 12 months. The Operations Manager will drive operational efficiency, quality, and safety while managing a leadership team, including the team leads for machining, fabrication, assembly areas, internal logistic to establish a world-class manufacturing operation.

Job description
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for site operations, including high-precision machining, fabrications, assembly, and support functions (i.e. internal logistic, scheduling, maintenance), to meet production goals and customer demands.
- Manage and mentor direct reports, including team leads for machining, fabrications and assembly, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement operational plans to achieve production transformation over the next 12 months, aligning with company objectives for quality, cost, and delivery.
- Monitor and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, on-time delivery, equipment uptime, and operational costs. Working with Business Controller on developing transparency on performance of the production.
- Collaborate with supply chain / sourcing and engineering / quality teams to ensure seamless integration of processes and resources during this transformation and projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing / operational excellence principles to enhance productivity and eliminate waste.
- Manage operational budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead costs, while providing input into capital expenditure decisions.
- Cooperate with scheduling, sales and shipping to ensure that the production schedule is adhered to
Experience requirements
- Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or respective work experience;
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple functions or teams.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, with demonstrated ability to manage team leads effectively.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex, multi-phase initiatives and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Proven track record of managing multi-operations manufacturing site, or production ramp-ups in a high-precision manufacturing environment is a plus.
Knowledge
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principle
