Job Description The Calibration Technician will perform routine work related to the calibration, maintenance, and repair of general-purpose measuring and test equipment across various Metrology disciplines. The technician will also maintain detailed and accurate records, including calibration certificates. Responsibilities Perform calibration, maintenance, and repair of measuring and test equipment in electrical, fluid quantities, mechanical, mass, thermodynamics, time and frequency, and other Metrology disciplines. Work in accordance with established procedures. Maintain consistent and steady hand coordination for pipette calibration. Ensure daily work complies with company policies on quality, ethics, integrity, and standards of business conduct. Enhance quality through regulatory compliance, quality audits, work accuracy, documentation, and cGDP practices. Use computers, software, and automation systems effectively for assigned duties. Document and report activities accurately, including Calibration Reports and Expense Reports. Promote safety for self, fellow employees, customers, and the environment. Maintain various types of equipment in good working condition. Contribute to work planning, recommending and implementing improved methods. Essential Skills Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, Word, and Access, with an emphasis on Excel. Attention to detail and ability to demonstrate competency in assigned calibration tasks. Professional communication skills with the ability to resolve customer issues and defuse conflict. Flexibility and adaptability. Capability to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Ability to work independently in a high-paced environment while managing difficult and high-pressure customer situations. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and reliable car for day travel within a 20-mile radius of Columbus, Ohio. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of applicable experience. Bachelor degree is overqualified Work Environment The position operates on a first shift, 9/80 schedule: Mon-Thurs 9 hours; Friday 8 hours; next week Mon-Thurs 9 hours; Friday off.
