Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to apply metal to customer orders and process materials accurately according to work order specifications. This role requires maintaining processing equipment in a safe and clean condition, ensuring the processing area is orderly, and accurately completing all required information entry. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
+ Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing.
+ Set up equipment to run material according to setup note specifications.
+ Process setup notes per work order specifications.
+ Verify product meets setup note specifications and record measurements.
+ Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications.
+ Perform equipment preventive maintenance.
+ Enter or delete material identification tags as instructed.
+ Perform general clean-up and assist in material packaging per work instructions.
+ Maintain measurement equipment in working condition.
+ Operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements.
+ Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials.
+ Provide feedback on machine efficiency and product quality.
+ Complete job responsibilities without compromising safety.
+ Train others when required.
+ Assist in activities related to lean and quality initiatives.
**Essential Skills**
+ Certification in the material handler position.
+ Ability to read and write.
+ Basic math skills.
+ Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
+ 2+ years of saw operation experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
+ Experience in inventory control and blueprint reading.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
+ Forklift operation experience.
+ Computer literacy.
+ Experience with hand-held measuring tools.
