LSU Shreveport is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Mobile Equipment Operator 1 in the Facility Services department. This role involves operating light to medium-duty equipment to support campus maintenance and operations. We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in an outdoor, hands-on environment.

Job Duties and Other Information

Responsible journeyman level; works in Facility Service at LSU-S. Incumbent will perform the following duties:

Operate hydraulic driven lawn mowers with up to a 6' wide cutting path.

Operate medium to large farm type tractors with power up to 52 horsepower, equipped with bush hogs,

blades, disks, tractor mounted edger or other attachments.

Operate trimmers, edgers, blowers and other hand held devices for grounds upkeep.

Operate CAT style equipment to include forklift blades, back hoes attachment or earth moving blade.

Make minor repairs and preventative maintenance to equipment on a daily basis.

Operate chain saws, pole saws and other chain driven style equipment to maintain campus trees,

bushes, and shrubbery.

Operate cars/trucks for on and off campus missions including deliveries, pick-ups etc. Maintain

accurate records when doing so.

Move furniture for other departments as needed.

Inventories equipment and supplies as needed; informs management of equipment shortages and needs.
