Forklift Operator and Material Handler Job Description Join an industry leader in highway safety products, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to a dynamic market. As a Forklift Operator and Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in managing the loading and unloading of highway products, both manually and with forklifts. You will operate a range of forklifts, including regular 6,000lbs and industrial 18,000lbs models. Your tasks will include retrieving products from inventory and preparing them for shipment, as well as handling shipments of large screws and bolts. Responsibilities Operate equipment and tools to aid in manufacturing highway safety products. Perform a variety of physically strenuous tasks as directed to maintain efficient production in the department. Maintain a clean work environment. Lift and carry materials of different weights throughout the shift. Check tools and equipment in observance of safety regulations. Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating forklifts and RF scanners. Ability to lift heavy materials. Experience in material handling, general labor, and shipping. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of industrial experience. Reliable and predictable attendance. Knowledge and ability to operate all equipment in the area. Ability to perform all essential functions safely and efficiently. Ability to function as a team member and establish and maintain effective working relationships. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work within a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment that can be hot, cold, dirty, and noisy. Safety procedures and guidelines must be adhered to at all times, including wearing appropriate protective gear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing, and steel-toed shoes. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
