Shift 2 (United States of America) Position Summary: The Mt. Orab facility is looking to hire a full-time Whirler. This position is 2nd shift (3pm-11pm). Under minimal supervision, this person sets up and operates machines in skilled precision work in the fabrication, alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools and equipment by performing the following duties. Shift hours: 3p-11p. Must train 7a-3p at least 90 days. Work You'll Do: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with co-workers, customers, and management. Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools and equipment Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials into machines Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling Evaluate, change or modify to setup jobs Confers with engineers, production supervisor, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems Utilizes and abides by the ISO requirements and safety procedures Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions Maintain daily machine and equipment cleanliness (5S) along with following preventative maintenance standards Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications: 1+ years of related experience or training: or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Able to read blueprint able to read precision measuring tools Dependable, honest, quick learner, good communication skills, and team player Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met Basic computer skills with the ability to perform and interpret computer functions Basic math and measuring skills Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is preferred Currently enrolled in technical program such as machining, welding, industrial equipment, or manufacturing engineering. Experience with precision tools and blueprints preferred.
