Stand for long periods of time; Work outdoors; Follow basic
instructions; Read, write and speak English; Participate in the
inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of
crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers;
Clean, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical
equipment such as changing flats; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate
irrigation equipment such as setting spillways and levees; Inform farm
managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery,
and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such
as planter, brush mower, swather, baler, sprayer, combine, tillage tool
to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and
harvest crops such as rice, hay; Load inputs and drive trucks to
transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields
and\
storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean
work areas/housing and maintain grounds and landscaping; Maintain
inventory and field roads; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and
other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and
other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or
sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Guide products on
conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard rotten items;
Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and
close full containers; Speak and understand English.
In view of the statutorily established basic function of the ES as a
no-fee labor exchange, that is, as a forum for bringing together
employers and job seekers, neither the ETA nor the SWAs are guarantors
of the accuracy or truthfulness of information contained on job orders
submitted by employers. Nor does any job order accepted or recruited
upon by the ES constitute a contractual job offer to which the ETA or a
SWA is in any way a party
