Dates of Need: 3/26/2025-12/10/2025.

This job requires a minimum of 3 months of agricultural equipment

operation experience. Work will take place on a farm that produces corn,

wheat, onion seed, carrot seed, watermelon, pumpkins, turnip, radish

seed, sunflower seed and other flower seeds. The lifting requirement for

this position is 60 pounds.\

Worker may:\

Drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as

tilling soil; planting, cultivating, and harvesting crop.\

May perform tasks such as crop baling.\

May operate stationary equipment to perform post-harvest tasks such as

husking, shelling, and threshing.\

Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using

conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers.\

Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or

seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.\

Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and

weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers.\

Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment

malfunctions.\

Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on

machinery.\

Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as

tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment.

\*Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when

machinery malfunctions.\

Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to

tractors, using bolts and hand tools.\

Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products,

using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or

pitchforks.\

Direct and monitor the activities of work crews engaged in planting,

weeding, or harvesting activities.\

Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant,

fertilize, dust, and spray crops.\

Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying

information.\

Walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in

planter mechanisms at specified intervals.\

Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers.\

Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to

discard diseased or rotten products.\

Position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery to catch

products, removing and closing full containers.

\*Adjust, repair, and service irrigation pivots and notify supervisors

when pivot machinery malfunctions.\

Push on switch that activates circle sprinkler system.\

Turn on/off pivots.\

Learn and master operating a pivot.\

If a pivot is stuck, get it unstuck and in operating condition.\

Roll up/unroll pivot hoses.\

Unplug plugged up nozzles.\

Unplug plugged up hoses.\

Replace broken nozzles and hoses.\

Maintain operation of a pivot at optimum level.\

Workers may also:\

Remove weeds and remove vegetation from crops using hands or hand

tools.\

Hand harvest vegetables and produce crops.\

Put vegetables in containers or lays bunches of vegetables along row for

collection. Carry containers or armloads of bunched vegetables to

collection point. Load vegetables on to trucks.\

All other duties assigned.

Workers job duties may require split shifts (e.g. 5:00 am to 10:00am and

5:00 pm to 8:00 pm), as well as night shifts due to crop demands. Work

hours may vary were there are periods when extra hours are offered and

periods of reduced hours are available due to weather, crop conditions,

and time of year. The anticipated hours listed represent the normal work

schedule. Due to the nature of these crops, weather, and the requirement

to send crops to customers when needed, it is the prevailing practice to

work more or different hours than those listed A worker may be offered

more than the specified hours of work; however, the worker will not be

required to work for more than the n mber of hours specified in the job

order, or on the workers Sabbath or Federal holidays. Saturday work may

be required. Workday start times vary depending on the weather.

start times. Work may be performed during rain, light snow, cold,

freezing temperatures and/or in high humidity and in temperatures over a

100 degrees F. Worker may be required to work in fields when crops are

wet with dew/rain and should have suitable clothing for variable weather

conditions. Workers must possess requisite physical strength and

endurance to repeat the job duties throughout the workday. Workers must

work at a sustained, vigorous pace and make bona-fide efforts to work

efficiently and consistently that are reasonable under the climatic and

all other working conditions.
