Job Summary

Better Being is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to lead and support daily manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for directing department supervisors, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Production Manager will play a key role in strategic planning, scheduling, cost control, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions

Directs the efforts of the department supervisors as they manage day-to-day production activities.

Meets daily, weekly, and monthly goals; measures progress and reviews with management daily.

Maintains a strong floor presence with the ability to recognize chronic issues.

Specifies, and recommends equipment purchases to improve operations, i.e. reduce costs, improve quality, reduce lead-times, etc.

Manages and oversees the hiring, training, discipline and termination of employees.

Develops and maintains cost and capacity models.

Collaborates with Project Managers to plan new product production.

Works closely with the scheduling group to organize efficient schedules.

Assures that the operation is compliant with the SOP's and GMP's.

Maintains a positive working environment for employees.

Responds to stressful situations with levelheaded thinking, planning, and communication.

Ensures safety and quality remain top departmental priorities.

Additional Responsibilities

Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in management, logistics, manufacturing, or engineering, with 2+ years of leadership experience.

Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Manufacturing/packaging experience strongly preferred

Must be proficient with Word and Excel

Experience with an MRP system preferred

Ability to effectively present information to senior management

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Must be able to communicate effectively up and down the reporting chain

Ability to effectively prioritize in an environment that can change daily

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

The employee must exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to move objects.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
