Equipment Operator- Water

The City of Beloit has an exciting opportunity available as an Equipment Operator- Water with the Water Resources Division of the Public Works Department.

The Equipment Operator- Water is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the public water supply distribution and customer metering systems. This position also assists in maintenance of the water system pumping and booster stations, the water production and storage system, and general Water Resources facilities and grounds. Performs Diggers Hotline locates for the water, sanitary, and storm water utilities. May work variable shifts. Will be subject to a rotation on-call duty schedule for off-hours customer service, including a maximum average response time of 25 minutes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
3. Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or the ability to obtain such CDL within six (6) months of hire.
4. One year of responsible work experience in the area of construction or public/private utility work. Experience with public water systems is preferred.
5. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of these positions will also be considered.
