Laser Operator Job Description As a Laser Operator, you will be responsible for operating the laser machine and ensuring the correct program is run. You will load sheet metal into the machine and work as part of the production team to maintain high standards of operation. Responsibilities Operate the laser machine efficiently. Ensure the correct program is being run on the machine. Load sheet metal into the machine accurately. Collaborate with the production team to meet daily targets. Essential Skills 3+ years of manufacturing experience in a high volume, fast-paced production environment. Experience in metalworking or hollow metal fabrication is preferred. Proficiency in operating CNC machinery. Dexterity with manufacturing equipment, basic power tools, and machinery. Ability to read and understand specification sheets, blueprints, and work orders. Proficiency in using basic math and handheld measuring tools for material layout and loading. Capability to utilize computer output from CAD/CAM systems. Ability to enter instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches. Skill in setting up mills and lathes. Knowledge and ability to maintain the machine in good working order. Understanding of re-work procedures and finished product characteristics. Knowledge of lock out/tag out procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with press brake and punch press is beneficial. Understanding of blueprint reading and interpretation. Experience in sheet metal fabrication is a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
