Seasonal Machine Operator

Position Responsibilities

  • Unload trucks and inspect shipments for accuracy and product quality
  • Record weights and shipment details in the electronic system
  • Operate lift trucks to empty, move, and store bins safely
  • Feed onions into processing facility and monitor machinery performance
  • Ensure removal of foreign material from conveyor belts before entry
  • Conduct inspections, tests, and audits to identify issues
  • Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot optic sorters, dryers, and onion wash operations
  • Maintain production records including temperature, water levels, and pounds weighed
  • Assist in equipment cleanups and routine maintenance
  • Train new employees and provide support to existing staff
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Ensure facility adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Report any unsafe acts, malfunctions, or production discrepancies immediately
  • Maintain organized workspaces and properly store tools/equipment
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Position Requitements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
  • 3-6 months experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred
  • Frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull up to 20 pounds
  • Occasionally lift up to 60 pounds
  • Knowledge of quality standards and sanitation procedures
