Responsibilities:
-Learn to operate and have functional knowledge of milling machines, drill press, grinder, lathe, polishing operations, a variety of measuring equipment and heat treating process.
-Learn and understand specifications such as blueprints, sketches models and descriptions.
-Attend NTMA approved apprenticeship training classes.
-Assist senior Tool & Die Makers in project work.
-Assists in building molds and related tooling for both new and repair projects.
-Learns how to create hand sketches to augment verbal instructions.
-Rough cores, cavities, fixtures, and water lines.
-Performs base work: drill, tap, name tags, water check. Fits components into base.

Language Skills: Ability to communicate in writing and verbally with peers and supervisor. Ability to read and interperet blue prints, drawings, sketches, work instructions, specifications and manuals. Understand and apply team concepts.
Mathmatical Skills: Ability to apply advanced math skills including geometry and trigonometry. Must be able to understand and apply grinding feed and speed calculations, SFM calculations and over burn.
Reasoning Ability: Makes routine decisions requiring little judgement. Decisions typically affect immediate department, product or process.
Physical Demands: Requires good eye to hand coordination and maual dexterity; walking, talking, seeing, hearing, sitting, standing, reaching, smelling; lifting up to 70 lbs. and sliding up to 200 lbs. on a non-repetetive basis.
