Participate in the qualification of new products and processes.
Work with Silgan product development Engineers and Customers in developing specifications and test methods.
Ensure certificates of analysis’ are completed for Customers that require them.
Implement and coordinate the plant SPC system.
Maintain Gainseeker, troubleshoot computer issues and interface with Corporate IT to maintain the system.
Provide SPC training to hourly and salaried personnel.
Manage continuous improvement efforts.
Utilize statistical tools to provide product and process data to operations.

Ensure effectiveness and timeliness of inspection functions (incoming, inprocess, and final).

Drive root cause analysis and satisfactory completion of 8D responses. Lead investigation and timely response for Customer Complaints Perform process audits on the manufacturing floor.
Plan, manage, and drive the internal audit program within the plant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor Degree (preferably in a technical discipline) or equivalent related work experience required.
Minimum of 5-10 years quality assurance or quality engineering supervisory experience in medical device and/or automotive markets.
Quality System Regulation (QSR) experience for medical device manufacturing.
Plastic injection molding experience desirable, preferably in a multi-plant environment.
Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Lead Auditor, and six-sigma black belt desirable.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, meeting facilitation, and organizational skills.
Strong customer relationship building skills.
Strong “hands on” analytical problem solving abilities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time with periodic overnight travel expected.

Responsibilities:
Take a hands-on supervisory approach to all Quality Control Technicians.

Actively monitor, document and work to improve quality issues facility wide.
Assist with audits as needed.

Qualifications:
Must have 3+ years of Quality Control experience within a food manufacturing environment.
